This was the little ferry that took passangers across the sea to the little island of Handa.
It is close to the north-west coast of Scotland about one mile from Tarbet and three miles north-west of Scourie. Covering 766 acres the island rises from sandy bays on the south to the 400ft. cliffs on the north side.
Since 1962 the island has been a bird reserve through an agreement between the owners Mr and Mrs J C Balfour and the RSPB. Over 100,000 seabirds use the island cliffs during the summer nesting time and this is the best time to visit.
